An independent guide to caring for fur and warm winter clothing. We are not a shop, a factory or an atelier, we sell nothing, and we have no connection to the previous website on this domain. Leave fur cleaning and repair to specialists.

Archive

Every page of the guide is listed here, from the newest to the oldest. Above the list there is a topic filter: choose “storage,” for example, and you'll see only the pages about summer closets, garment bags and moths. Below the list, we explain where the site's two archived addresses came from and why they open pages about mink and nutria.

If all you remember is reading something about moths or about drying after snow, start with the archive: a topic tag will get you to the right page faster than searching from memory.

— Editors' view

A page goes into the archive only when it's finished: every tip has been checked for safety to the garment, and anything that calls for a specialist's hands is clearly flagged. The dates in the list are the dates the pages were prepared, not a promise to update them on a schedule. If we notice that a tip could be explained more clearly or more safely for the garment, the page will be rewritten, and its place in the list will move along with the new date.

Archived addresses on this domain

This domain once hosted a different website — the catalog of a fur company. Mk Svetlana has no connection to it and does not restore any of its content. External links still point to two of its old addresses, so these now open our own pages: one about a mink coat and one about a nutria coat, covering how the fur is built and how to care for it. The texts were written from scratch, are available only in Russian and sell nothing. No other old addresses were carried over.

  • Manufacturers' care recommendations for fur garments

The advice in this guide is based on general manufacturer recommendations and on reference literature about fur garments, and it is presented in general terms. If the care label on your garment gives its own instructions, they take priority over ours: whenever they differ, go by the label and by the opinion of a specialist who has seen the item in person.
